InterCaribbean flight returns to Dominica due to technical issue

Reports indicate that InterCaribbean Flight 713, departing from Dominica and bound for Barbados, was forced to return to the Nature Isle shortly after takeoff due to a technical issue.

InterCaribbean informed Barbados TODAY that a technical problem necessitated the precautionary shutdown of one of the plane’s engines.

However, the aircraft safely landed, and passengers were being accommodated on another flight.

“The incident occurred shortly after takeoff when the pilot detected an anomaly in one of the aircraft’s engines,” stated InterCaribbean in a statement.

“In adherence to our standard operating procedures, the captain shut down the affected engine as a precautionary measure and returned to Marigot, where the aircraft landed without further incident. Emergency protocols were enacted, and emergency services were on standby as the aircraft safely landed,” it added.
