Grand Marshals revealed for Atlanta Caribbean Carnival 2024
As stated in a release from the organization, the attendees of “North America’s fastest growing Caribbean Carnival” includes Georgia State House Representative Segun Adeyina, former State Representative and current Gwinnett County Chairperson candidate Donna McLeod, media executive and community activist Le’Dor Milteer, and popular Dominican artiste Asa Bantan.
The Bouyon boss will serve as the Grand Marshal along the parade route and is set to perform at the festival’s post-parade concert at Westside Park on Saturday, May 25.
ACCBA President Patricia Tonge Edigin expressed her excitement for Asa Bantan’s involvement saying, “Asa truly deserves this, not only is Asa a Soca/Bouyon artiste but he gives back to those in need in his homeland and who better to represent Dominica other than Asa Banton; it was a pleasure to select him as one of our Grand Marshals.”
Adeyina and McLeod, of Vincentian-Nigerian and Jamaican-American descent respectively, will add their cultural influence to the event as co-Grand Marshals, along with Le’Dor Milteer, an entrepreneur and advocate known for her work in community issues.
The festivities will feature various events across the city, including the Children’s Carnival on May 11, the ACCBA J’ouvert on May 24, the Grand Parade & Concert on May 25, and the new cooler fete experience ‘Submerged’ on May 26.
