Central Bank welcomes 26 summer interns
The Central Bank of Barbados’ 2024 summer internship programme is underway.
For three months, 26 tertiary level students from diverse academic backgrounds, will gain invaluable experience, learn from seasoned professionals, and be exposed to networking opportunities while working in departments related to their fields of study.
Speaking ahead of the programme, Novaline Brewster, Director, Communications, Information, and Outreach at the Bank stated:
“We are delighted to host this group of talented individuals in our summer internship programme.”
“This is a great opportunity for these aspiring professionals to experience the world of work and receive the support and guidance they need to succeed and excel in their working lives,” she explained.
Computer science student at the University of The West Indies, Cave Hill, Ché Hoyte, expressed eagerness for the experience, and his excitement to work at the Bank.
“I’m looking forward to an opportunity that is both challenging and educational alongside personnel who allow me to learn and grow as an IT or digital transformation professional,” he said.
During the internship, interns will attend training courses, seminars, and team building exercises, allowing them to refine their technical skills, experience real-world projects, and gain corporate knowledge.
