UV radiation advisory issued in the British Virgin Islands
The Department of Disaster Management in the British Virgin Islands has shared an Orange Level Alert UV radiation advisory for April 14.
The advisory asks residents to exercise caution as Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is expected to get to dangerous levels.
The BVI WeatherSTEM is showing UV-index of very high exposures between 11 am and 2 pm.
According to the Orange Level Alert, there is a very high-risk harm if persons are unprotected from the sun.
The public is urged to minimise time in the sun, seek shade, wear sunscreen and cover up.
