Bahamian Olympic Champion Steven Gardiner pulls out of 400m heats

Bahamian Steven Gardiner, the defending Olympic 400 metre champion, was a non-starter in today’s competition.

The 28-year-old was due to run in Heat Four, which featured medal favorite Quincy Hall of the United States of America.

No information was given about his withdrawal; however, Gardiner has battled with injuries in recent years.
