Young Vice wins Road March title in Antigua
Antigua’s Carnival has wrapped up with a new generation of artists taking centre stage.
The Road March title, an honour in the carnival circuit, was taken by rising star Jaquiel Jacobs, known by his stage name Young Vice, and his New Gen Band. Their infectious hit “Gravity Falls” had revellers dancing throughout the festivities.
The competition was fierce, with other young artists making their mark. Keontae Willock, performing as Kid Fresh, secured the first runner-up position with his energetic “Top a da mawnin”.
Meanwhile, veteran performer Tian Winter rounded out the top three with his crowd-pleaser “Cyah Contain”.
The visual spectacle of the carnival was equally impressive, with the Band of the Year results showcasing the creativity and effort of participating groups.
Insane Carnival dazzled judges and spectators alike, claiming the top spot. Myst secured a well-deserved second place, while Sechuns impressed with a third-place finish.
