UberSoca cruise to bring 2,500 revellers to St Croix for epic J’ouvert
The US Virgin Islands Department of Tourism and the Division of Festivals have unveiled plans for the 2024 UberSoca Cruise stop on the island of St Croix.
Festivities are set to start on October 24 when the Norwegian Jade will dock at the Ann E. Abramson Marine Facility (Frederiksted Pier) with more than 2,500 revellers as part of the 10th voyage for UberSoca Cruise.
Revellers are expected to be taken through the streets of Frederiksted for a “one-of-a-kind J’ouvert celebration.”
Over the two-mile route, cruise guests and locals will engage in a Zombie-themed road J’ouvert with some of the top local and international DJs who are on the UberSoca Cruise roster. There will also be performances by USVI Soca artistes Adam O and Pumpa and the Bouyon king Asa Bantan.
Tourism Commissioner Joseph Boschulte is enthusiastic about the cruise returning to the USVI.
“As we continue to expand marketing the destination to the world, we know the importance of continued re-centreing in culture and heritage,” said Boschulte. “The partnership with UberSoca Cruise allows us to connect and showcase our islands with the Caribbean diaspora and lovers of our rich regional culture.”
“We are thrilled to return to the shores of the US Virgin Islands for our upcoming sailing,” expressed Nathaniel Turner, CEO and Founder of Ubersoca Cruise. “Our 2023 visit to St. Thomas was nothing short of historic, marking a celebration of culture and community. This year, we are excited to bring the USC family to St. Croix and extend a warm invitation to locals and those from surrounding islands to join us on the road for an unforgettable experience.”
The cruise is set to take place from October 21 to 27.
