Tropical Storm Alberto forms in Gulf of Mexico

The 2024 Atlantic hurricane season has seen its first named storm develop over the western Gulf of Mexico.

Named Alberto, the storm formed on Wednesday morning, a day earlier than the average date for the first named storm.
