SVG’s Shafiqua Maloney to compete at Lausanne Diamond League

Vincentian Olympic athlete Shafiqua Maloney is set to complete in the Women’s 800 metres at the Lausanne Wanda Diamond League in Switzerland on Thursday, August 22.  

Maloney recently represented St Vincent and the Grenadines at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games where she made history for her country by becoming the first Vincentian to reach an Olympic final. She finished in 4th place in the Women’s 800m Olympic Finals, a spot shy of the bronze medal. 

The Vincentian athlete brought pride to her country and continues to press on. 

Maloney shared on social media that she will be at the Wanda Diamond League tomorrow:

I will be participating in my first meet tomorrow “
