Sustainable Design Impact Hub: A pioneering event in Grenada

Sustainable Design Impact Hub: A pioneering event in Grenada

The Sustainable Design Impact Hub, curated by the Council on Sustainable Fashion & Design of Grenada (CSFDG), is set to make history by featuring the first SDG Lounge to be held in the Caribbean.

Scheduled for August 15 to 18, 2024, this landmark event will bring together leading experts, innovators, and stakeholders to explore solutions in sustainable design and development for small island developing states (SIDS).

The hub will bring together global and local leaders to raise awareness of Grenada’s vulnerabilities to climate change and highlight opportunities for harnessing the power of the creative economy.

The SDG Lounge concept created by PVBLIC Foundation, aims to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through collaboration, innovation, and collective effort. Since its inception, the lounge has served as a space for conversation and networking alongside UN Representatives, Heads of State, international organisations, and family offices.

Mount Cinnamon Beach Resort is the perfect backdrop for the hub – a locally owned resort committed to sustainable development and empowering local small business owners. Mount Cinnamon is the only resort in the Caribbean to be a member of the United Nations Global Compact and has been Green Globe Certified since 2014.

Additional sessions during the hub will be available throughout the island including a Fireside Chat event at Agro-Tourisim Landmark, Belmont Estate.

The event will feature a roster of esteemed speakers, including Barry Collymore, Owner of Mount Cinnamon Beach Resort and Advisory Board member of CSFDG, who will address the Built Environment as it relates to the tourism and hospitality industry on Caribbean SIDS Barry will moderate the discussion alongside local architect Irina Kostka Da Silva, Italian Landscape Architect and Interior designer Bepi Povia, and local developer and owner of AISB Caribbean, Yannick Hiard.
