Skinny Fabulous shines for SVG at 2024 Caribbean Music Awards
Vincentian Soca star Skinny Fabulous continues to put his country on the map as he walked away with several awards from the 2024 Caribbean Music Awards.
The entertainer, whose given name is Gamal Doyle, took home the award for Artist of the Year Male (Soca).
Skinny Fabulous on Instagram expressed shock at winning artiste of the year as he expressed his thanks.
He posted: “Where to start ? Man, I’m so grateful for these awards. Thank you thank you thank you. I was hopeful about video of the year but I DID NOT EXPECT ARTISTE OF THE YEAR. I have no words… other than thank you. I’m still at the awards so I’ll post better tomorrow…..but I needed to post just to say thank you .”
Together with Trini Soca princess Nailah Blackman, the duo also won Video of the Year (Soca) for ‘Come Home’ and Collaboration of the Year (Soca) for the song ‘Come Home’.
Nailah Blackman on her Instagram said she was thankful for the two amazing awards.
She wrote: “I came to CMA with no expectation so these two awards definitely had me a bit lost for words but thank you so much to my family, my fans, my management, the writers and producers of this song and to the lovely gentleman that collaborated on this song with me @skinnyfabulous ! The Consulate General of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to the USA has since extended congratulations to Soca superstar and Cultural Ambassador, Gamal Doyle, Skinny Fabulous for copping three prestigious awards at this year’s Caribbean Music Award – Soca Collaboration of the Year, Soca Music Video of the Year and Male Artiste of the Year (Soca).
The Consulate posted on its social media page: “We are proud of your representation of the BLUE GOLD AND GREEN. “You Know What I’m Saying, Ah Whoooaa”.
The 2024 Caribbean Music Awards took place at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York on Thursday night.
