Scotiabank recognised as one of the best workplaces in the region
Scotiabank Trinidad and Tobago Limited has again snagged a Great Place To Work® title.
Its latest accolade is being named as one of the Best Workplaces™ in the Caribbean and Central America for 2024, in the category of more than 1,000 employees.
Great Place To Work® evaluates organisations for their efforts to create excellent workplaces, which have a positive impact on people, communities, and the world as a whole.
In a statement, Gayle Pazos, Senior VP and Managing Director, Scotiabank Trinidad and Tobago Limited expressed gratitude to employees for their part in the bank gaining the recognition.

Scotiabank has made advancements in meeting the needs of its employees.
The bank recently rolled out Enhanced Paternity Leave – following the expansion of parental leave in 2022. Maternity Leave was moved from 14 weeks to 16 weeks and Paternity Leave moved from three days to four weeks, Paternity Leave was further increased within the past year, to eight weeks.
Scotiabank was the first and only in the local industry to introduce these changes.
Employees have also received improved benefits and allowances. As employees’ and business needs evolve, allowances and benefits related to loans and medical, have been enhanced.
The bank continued to provide training and development programmes that help employees advance their careers – inclusive of mentorship, leadership development and Scotia Academy & LinkedIn Learning.
Scotiabank also made ongoing investments to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) efforts, including the introduction of new learning resources to support employees in using inclusive language.
These efforts also include actions to create equitable work environments, as well as how to make inclusive hiring decisions.
Additionally, DEI-specific learning resources have also been made available to all employees.
