Massy Group supports women’s cricket as WCPL title sponsor

Massy Group is proud to announce its continued title sponsorship of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) for the third consecutive year as part of a five-year pledge of support.

The WCPL tournament will run from August 21-29, with all matches being held at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy Tarouba, welcoming fans and supporters in Trinidad and Tobago.

For the first time, night matches will be introduced in the tournament with hopes of generating added excitement and attendance at the games. Added to this, fans will be treated to double-headers with the Men’s CPL for the first time.

This partnership with the WCPL underscores Massy Group’s unwavering commitment to the development and promotion of women’s cricket in the Caribbean.

Ambikah Mongroo, Senior Vice President, Massy Group said, “Massy and CPL share a deep desire to see the WCPL reach parity with the men’s CPL, in every way. We know this will take time, and we are committed to this journey in advancing the Diversity & Inclusion agenda in the Caribbean through sport.”

Candace Simmons, CPL Head of Regional Marketing said, “The WCPL and women’s cricket remains a key focus for us going forward and we are looking forward to staging another excellent event in 2024 and using this as a springboard for further success in the future.”

This year’s tournament will comprise some of the world’s most decorated cricket players alongside Caribbean players, including Deandra Dottin hailing from Barbados. Dottin is noted as one of the region’s most exceptional talents and a player to watch in the Massy WCPL.

The Women’s Caribbean Premier League continues to be a beacon of inspiration for young female athletes across the Caribbean.

Kyome Pascall Mortley, Senior Coordinator, SportTT said she was proud that a company like Massy Group took up the mantle to sponsor women’s cricket. She encouraged supporters to come out and support their favourite team.
