Grenadian Kirani James eyes historic fourth Olympic medal
Grenadian Kirani James has an opportunity to create history as he has qualified for the finals of the men’s 400 metres.
James, who is seeking a record fourth Olympic medal in the event, stormed to victory in semi-final two clocking 43.78 seconds, which is just off his personal best.
The 31-year-old, who won the event in 2012, was the fastest qualifier heading into the finals.
James is joined in the finals by Trinidad and Tobago’s Jareem Richards, who clocked 44.33 seconds in semi-final one.
The 400m finals is set to take place at 3:20pm Grenadian time.
