Dominica’s Hodge and Athanaze awarded CWI contracts, 2024/2025 season
Dominican cricket star, Kavem Hodge, has earned a retainer contract from Cricket West Indies (CWI) for the 2024/2025 season, following a strong start to his test cricket career. Hodge is one of 15 players selected for the retainer contracts this season.
Having debuted against Australia earlier this year, Hodge has already impressed with two half-centuries and a century against England.
Fellow Dominican cricketer, Alick Athanaze, has also secured another retainer contract.
Both Hodge and Athanaze have been awarded single-year contracts, joining other players like Kraigg Brathwaite, Keacy Carty, Roston Chase, Joshua Da Silva, Akeal Hosein, Romario Shepherd, and Rovman Powell.
Meanwhile, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Brandon King, Gudakesh Motie, and Jayden Seales have been offered new multiyear contracts.
These multiyear deals come under a fresh four-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in January 2024 between CWI and the West Indies Players Association (WIPA).
