Dominica: Water level at Boiling Lake almost back to normal

The UWI Seismic Research Center (UWI SRC) says as of April 11, the Boiling Lake’s water in Dominica have returned to almost normal conditions.  

Despite this latest update, the UWI SRC is reminding the public to be cautious when visiting the Boiling Lake.  

On March 29, the lake was first observed to experience a significant drop in water levels, when there was little to no water observed in the lake.    

The UWI-SRC and the Dominica ODM – Office of Disaster Management, Dominica continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates accordingly. 

The Boiling Lake is a volcano-hydrothermal feature located in an area next to the Valley of Desolation in southern Dominica.
