Grenada wins 17th gold medal at Chelsea Flower Show
Grenada continues to shine in its golden year as Pure Grenada was awarded a gold medal at the prestigious Royal Horticultural Society 2024 Chelsea Flower Show in the United Kingdom.
Pure Grenada took home its 17th Gold medal for its display, with this year’s theme, “The Golden Falls of Grenada,” celebrating Grenada’s 50th year of Independence.
Pure Grenada explains the exhibit is inspired by the breathtaking Golden Falls, known for its unique twin cascades nestled in the heart of the rainforest.
The display features Heliconias, Anthuriums, Orchids, Ginger Lilies, Shampoo Gingers, and a variety of lush foliage. The team was led by Catherine John.
In the Great Pavilion, Pure Grenada also captured The President’s Choice Award for the Diverse flora of Grenada.
Team member Anderson Antoine shared a video (no audio) of the award winning display.
The High Commission for Grenada in the United Kingdom congratulated Team Grenada on winning the 17th Gold and 7th consecutively at the Chelsea Flower Show in London.
Over the past 23 years Grenada has excelled at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, having won prior to this, 16 gold medals, 5 silver-gilt medals and one silver medal.
The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is an event which draws a global crowd and is the ‘haute-couture’ of the international gardening scene.
