Vincentian sprinter smashes school’s long standing 200m record
Congratulations are in order for Keo Davis of the St Vincent Grammar School after he smashed the school’s longest-standing record in the 200m senior boys race.
The action went down at the 100th edition of the St Vincent Grammar School’s Inter House Athletics Championships.
Davis, 17, a Millar House Senior, smashed the longest-standing record at the school, the 48-year-old 200m record of Dr Christian Anderson of 22.20s, winning the race in 21.55s.
Team Athletics SVG says the time qualifies him for the U20 Boys 200m for the CARIFTA Games. Earlier in the day, he also ran a CARIFTA qualifying time of 10.71 to win the 100m.
Last year, Keo won the U17 100m bronze and 200m silver at the CARIFTA Games.
St Vincent Grammar School in a Facebook post congratulated Keo: “The oldest record in our books at 48 years held by Dr Christian Anderson is no more. Records are meant to be broken and Keo was determined to do that today. Congratulations Keo.”
