Skinny Fabulous featured in Grammy article
Vincentian Soca star Skinny Fabulous is among five artistes who have been highlighted in a Grammy article written by Patricia Meschino entitled, “5 Artists Essential to Contemporary Soca: Machel, Patrice Roberts, Voice, Skinny Fabulous, Kes The Band.”
Skinny Fabulous is the only Vincentian among the Trinidadian-led strong list.
The extract on Skinny Fabulous highlights that on the intro to his recently released debut album B. A.D. (Beyond A Doubt) singer/songwriter Skinny Fabulous declares, “I am very happy that I am one of the ambassadors of St Vincent and the Grenadines, I was born to do music, I was born to be of something bigger than myself.”
The article touches on his career, highlighting that “Head Bad” created a demand for him throughout the Caribbean, in the US and parts of Europe.
The write-up noted his 2008 St Vincent Carnival Road march win, his collaboration with Machel Montano and Bunji Garlin on the 2019 Road March winner “Famalay” in T&T, and also highlighted the big 2023 Carnival release “Come Home” a duet with Nailah Blackman.
The latter song ” Come Home” placed second in the 2023 Visit Trinidad Road March race after it was played 106 times.
Soca artiste Gamal ‘Skinny Fabulous’ Doyle is a Cultural Ambassador for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
