Massy Stores opens new outlets in Guyana & St Lucia
Massy Stores’ presence in the Caribbean is growing as the conglomerate opened two new retail outlets in Guyana and St Lucia.
Massy Stores now has 18 locations in St Lucia following the opening of a branch on July 27 at the Baywalk Shopping Mall in Rodney Bay.
This new location will feature an extensive selection of home products, including furniture, consumer electronics, appliances, and other essentials.
The Guyanese store, which is in the Giftland Mall, is Massy’s sixth in the country.
Massy noted the Guyanese outlet, formerly known as FoodMaxx Supermarket, is strategically located in a high traffic area in East Coast Demerara.
Region wide, Massy Stores now has 68 locations split between Trinidad, Guyana, St Lucia, Jamaica, Barbados and St Vincent and the Grenadines.
The company also operates the Rowe’s IGA supermarkets in Jacksonville, Florida.
Commenting on the opening of the new Guyana outlet, Ambikah Mongroo, Senior Vice-President at Massy Integrated Retail, said: “The opening of the new supermarket is consistent with the strategy of the Group’s Integrated Retail Portfolio to pursue the expansion of our retail footprint and our continued commitment to the development Guyana”.
