4.0 earthquake recorded northwest of St Vincent

A magnitude 4.0 earthquake was recorded northwest of St Vincent and the Grenadines early this morning.    

The UWI Seismic Research Center (UWI SRC) said it occurred around 12:43 am (local time) at a depth of 10 km.                    

According to the Automatic Earthquake Location from UWI SRC, the quake struck:        

  • Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, 96 km, NW 

  • Castries, Saint Lucia, 135 km, SW 

  • St George’s, Grenada, 159 km, NNW 

 

Meanwhile, on Wednesday night, a magnitude 3.5 earthquake was recorded southeast of St George’s, Grenada.  

It occurred around 11:54 pm local time at a depth of 10km  

According to the Automatic Earthquake Location from UWI SRC, the quake struck:      

  • St George’s, Grenada, 61 km, SE 

  • Scarborough, Trinidad and Tobago, 88 km, NW 

  • Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, 107 km, N
